Francesco Molinari Brings Championship Excellence to Pevero Golf Club
Pevero Golf Club is delighted to have partnered with Open Champion and Ryder Cup star, Francesco Molinari, becoming the home of The Francesco Molinari Golf Academy in the golfer’s home country.
Golfers will benefit from the expertise of one of the most technically efficient players in professional golf, with Francesco ensuring his on-site coaching team adopt his philosophy of committed and concentrated practice in the pursuit of excellence.
The Francesco Molinari Golf Academy will welcome members and guests alike at the esteemed golf course which was designed by revered course architect, Robert Trent Jones; with this addition solidifying Pevero’s place as the premier course on Sardinia. As part of the relationship, Francesco is set to visit the venue throughout the year, including at the Academy’s launch event; hosting coaching clinics and meeting with both members and guests. Additionally, the star will carry the logo of The Francesco Molinari Golf Academy at Pevero Golf Club on his tournament bag throughout the year, creating visibility at some of golf’s most high-profile events.
Francesco was born in Turin, Italy. As an amateur, he won the Italian Amateur Stroke Play Championship twice, and the Italian Match Play Championship, turning professional in 2004. Before starting his golfing career, Francesco obtained a Business degree at the University of Turin.
Francesco lives in London, UK, with his wife Valentina and children Emma and Tommaso. He is also the younger brother of tour professional Edoardo Molinari. Currently London-based, he has adopted West Ham as his team of choice in the UK’s capital whilst also supporting Inter Milan.
Francesco’s remarkable career has taken him to the very pinnacle of professional golf. Francesco’s reputation and profile within Professional Golf are supported by long-standing global partners that include Rolex, Callaway and Nike.
The development of the Academy will be supported by International sports, marketing and media group, IMG, and the IMG Golf Course Services division will be working closely with the team at Pevero Golf Club to deliver what will become one of the region’s most renowned and celebrated golf practice and learning facilities.
With the addition of the academy, Pevero Golf Club has also joined an elite group of courses around the globe in becoming an IMG Prestige venue. The IMG Prestige portfolio includes some of the highest-profile courses in the sport, from Open Championship sites, to Ryder Cup host venues, as well as some of the most familiar names from both the PGA and DP World Tours. Membership to the network will provide Pevero Golf Club members with exclusive access to this enviable network of leading courses and resorts from around the world and will further reinforce Pevero’s reputation as one of Italy’s finest golfing destinations.
